In 1980, Lucas Silva bought a ceramics factory and started a business dedicated to the production of bricks and other ceramic materials.
The need for innovation led to the diversification of production, culminating in the creation of Lucas & Filhos, Lda. in 1996. This marked a new phase of growth, with the introduction of kiln production and a significant investment in machinery to better meet the demands of the market.
Lucas Silva's dedication and continuous investment in the evolution of the business were the pillars that enabled the company to become the benchmark it is today.

Sustainable Water Management
Lusofornos adopts responsible water consumption practices, using rainwater for various internal processes. This initiative reduces drinking water consumption and minimises waste, making the operation more efficient and sustainable.
Sustainable equipment
To optimise the movement of materials within the factory, we use electric forklifts, which reduce carbon emissions and make internal logistics more environmentally friendly.

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Much of Lusofornos' production is carried out manually, significantly reducing electricity consumption. When necessary, we use solar panels to supply the factory's energy needs, ensuring a lower environmental impact.
Reusing resources
Lusofornos follows the principle of zero waste, reusing materials whenever possible. Broken bricks and other production waste are reused, reducing the need for new raw materials and helping to preserve the environment.
